SIS, SBS, SEBS: Styrene Block-Copolymers for PSA, HMA and HMPSA
DzBh New Material is providing Styrene Block Copolymers (SBC) to the adhesives industry for nearly 20 years. Beside their well-known Baling® standard grades, DzBh has a wide ability to customize SBC formulations. DzBh SBC are used in Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA), Hot-Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (HMPSA), and as modifiers in HMA formulations because they impart great elongation properties, they have good thermal stability and they retain high flexibility low-temperature flexibility.
DzBh SBC are also widely compatible with EVA or EBA polyolefins and a wide range of tackifier resins as additive in HMA formulations.
DzBh Baling® SIS (Styrene-Isoprene-Styrene) are amongst styrene block copolymers, those with the lowest modulus. Thanks to their low viscosity, high tack and outstanding viscoelastic properties they are widely used in low-viscosity high-tack PSA and HMPSA.
The customized Linear or Radial SIS 1200 series shows an enhanced variety of products with narrow parameters in terms styrene and diblock content, viscosity, hardness, moduls and elongation, meeting the most compelling requirements.
DzBh Baling® SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) are used for high strength adhesion in hot-melt or solvent. The 4000 series shows customized hardness and viscosity for HMPSA.
DzBh Baling® SEBS (Styrene-Ethylene/Butylene-Styrene) and SEPS (Styrene-Ethylene/Propylene-Styrene) are used in low self-adhesive PSA non-woven applications.
End-product applications include PSA tapes, labels, elastic attachment adhesives (diapers), hot-melt sprays, footwear, hot-melt road marking, construction.
