Monolayer polyolefin soft films

The famous SK Evatane® (EVA) and Lotryl® (EMA, EBA) polyolefin copolymers are an elective choice for mono-layer flexible films. Lotryl® MM slipping and anti-block masterbatches may also be added.


Evatane® and Lotryl® high comonomer content are also perfectly miscible with any PE for the right final results.


PE, PP - modified grades for film extrusion - from the major world producers are regularly available at Speedy Polymers with special offers, off-specs, slow movings.



Case Study

Bags for rubber additives admixtures

Opportunity: Customer needed to make blown-film small bags to contain admixtures of rubber additives.

High mechanical properties, chemical and thermal resistance, gas barrier, permanent antistatic

Specific PA6 and PA6.6 compounds for chemical resistance are available with Poliblend Polimid® and Ambra Ambramid® portfolios. Long-chain polyamides are available with Nexis Fibers PA6.10 and 6.12. Sipol Sipolprene® flexible films will also show high chemical resistance.


SK Evasin® EVOH polymer resin also has the highest oxygen-barrier properties, as well as to many other gases.


Permanent antistatic properties for anti-dust, comfortability, safety are achieved with standard permanent antistatic additives from major producers plus Lotader® or Orevac® compatibilizer in proper mixing.


Multi-layer structures obtained by coextrusion, extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, thermoadhesive lamination or hot-melt lamination will yield very specific, high performance products.




Extrusion coating and lamination

Ambra with its long-term partner has a special expertise on all sorts of coextrusion, extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, coextrusion coating, thermoadhesive calendering processes.


SK Evatane® EVA shows strong adhesion on all PE, PS or PVC flexible supports, while Lotryl® or Lotryl® T copolymer guarantee very strong adhesion onto PP textiles or nonwovens.


The famous SK Orevac®, Lotader® reactive polyolefins are the first option for high adhesion in extrusion coating and extrusion lamination processes onto reactive or polar textiles, nonvowens and other flexible supports (PA, PET, natural fibers, etc.).


The same materials are used as well for extrusion coating and extrusion lamination on rigid supports, such as wood profiles, metal plates, glasses, rigid plastics sheets for a huge number of applications in construction, interiors furnishing, technical and industrial products, consumer goods, toys, etc.


All SK specialty polyolefins can be used as monolayer for coating, in multilayer coating, or also can be pre-mixed or directly dosed together with PE to tune properties.


Structures with chemical resistance and gas-barrier properties (Evasin®, Sipolprene®, Polimid®, Nexis Fibers, others) will always require adhesive tie-layers with reactive features, such as Lotader® or Orevac®.

Opportunity: One customer asked us for a high-adhesion polyolefin to strongly adhere to a PP woven-non-woven protective film for cars.

SK Lotader® is the elective adhesive layer for extrusion coating for the protection of all sort of id-cards, credit cards, etc. on any type of polymer support.

Thermoadhesive films

The SK copolymers portfolio is also widely employed for the extrusion of thermoadhesive films for the lamination of flexible, flexible to rigid, or rigid structures.


SK Evatane® EVA special grades with superior transparency and aging resistance are used for the extrusion of thermoadhesive films for the encapsulation of crystalline silicon cells in photovoltaic panels, and for the construction of glass sandwich stuctures in interior and exterior architecture with outstanding safety, exhibiting also great properties for optical decoration.


Even stronger lamination adhesion levels may be obtained with SK Orevac® T or Lotader® thermoadhesive films, alone or blended with Evatane®, Lotryl® or common PE.


Applications will include all those mentioned in the above sections, for textiles, automotive, constructions, furnishing and many more.


Arkema Platamid® crystalline copolyamide (COPA) guarantees very high and universal adhesion to leather, textiles or polar substrates, excellent laundry & dry-cleaning resistance, and fast setting time (thus, fast lamination speed). Platamid® also has a high bio-source content, due to its origin from castor oil. Specific grades for film extrusion allow very thin films thickness (15µm).


Thermoadhesive films made with specific Platamid® grades will exert a durable adhesion onto natural fibres (cotton, wool, etc.), synthetic fibres (nylon, polyester, etc.), leather, wood, metals, NBR.


Platamid® films are also widely used for the decoration of clothes and textiles in the so-called Melt Print Transfer process, with superior laundry & dry-cleaning resistance.

Comfort, soft-touch and breathability

Ambra Solutions for technical films include a range of options for comfort, soft-touch and breathable (i.e. high WVTR, Water Vapour Transmission Rate) polymers, including Sipol Sipolprene® block copolyesters, Arkema Lotryl® and Lotryl® T EMA copolymers).


These breathable polymers may be used alone in mono-layer structures, in blend with other polyolefin, polyamides, polyesters, or in multi-layer structures together with some adhesive layers (SK Evatane®, Orevac®, Lotryl® and Lotader®) for extrusion coating onto various supports.

Opportunity: One film producer had to make a soft film by blown technology for a mattress liner.


Sipol Sipolprene® breathable TPE block polyester. A superior material.

Sipol Sipolprene® range is the elective choice for top-segment, top-value applications of non-porous, continuous breathable films, where a superior flexibility, working temperature span and chemical resistance are required.

Sipolprene® allows to maintain barrier properties to water and microbial growth.

It can be easily processed by either co-extrusion or extrusion coating, extrusion lamination. For professional gloves, cover films, etc. with superior comfort.

Dot coating

Ambra also guarantees a broad range of the main polyolefins which are used for powder coating on textiles, both in the shape of granules to be micronized by the customer (PE from various sources with Speedy Polymers, EVA Evatane® and EMA, EBA Lotryl® by SK) and ready-to-use with its own Ambra Powder portfolio with tailor-made characteristics, particle size distributions and colors.


Ambra Powder portfolio also includes micronization of all Arkema Platamid® copolyamides in the desired particle size distribution, copolyesters from various producers, and Sipol® Technipol® Bio 707 fully biodegradable poly butylene sebacate.


Applications include textiles and clothing, automotive carpeting, constructions and interior carpeting.


Additivation in polymer coating

High rate of conductivity may be obtained by Mesgo carbon black compounds.

Mesgo SwingAdd® additive masterbatches help to reduce the high temperature degradation, improve the lifetime on UV and oxidation exposure, improve polymer processability, scratch resistance, etc. SwingAdd® are available as single-function additives or as a combined proprieties or colors (combi-batches).

Jazzwhite® and Tangoblack® white and black masterbatches are produced in large volumes at Mesgo Grigno plant, and they show very high concentration and excellent dispersion of the pigments on polyolefins at very reasonable costs. Color masterbatches are produced at Mesgo Iride Colors, with very high flexibility also for small batches.

Wax coating

Polwax is the largest producer of refined and deodorized paraffin waxes in the whole Eastern Europe. Its range of Paraffin emulsions are regularly used in wax impregnation of textiles, leathers, wood furnishing, etc.

The Italian wax compounder Brasca provided wax blend solutions since 1946. Its ABpolwax® standard PE waxes and tailor-made combinations will satisfy any of your need for wax impregnation both in terms of performance and easy handling.
