Arkema Introduces OREVAC® 18728 and EVASIN® EV3251FT for oxygen barrier rigid packaging

The OREVAC® 18728, a phthalate free PP tie resin and the EVASIN® EV3251FT, an EVOH grade with 32% ethylene content for the market of the rigid gas barrier packaging.

ARKEMA is launching two brand new products on the market of the rigid gas barrier packaging. The OREVAC® 18728, a phthalate free PP tie resin and the EVASIN® EV3251FT, an EVOH grade with 32% ethylene content.
The OREVAC® 18728, a phthalate free PP tie resin and the EVASIN® EV3251FT, an EVOH grade with 32% ethylene content, both resins are suitable for sheet thermoforming and container blow molding.

Those two materials are enlarging ARKEMA product portfolio and allows ARKEMA to cover both rigid and flexible multilayer packaging markets.
With OREVAC® 18728 and EVASIN® EV3251FT, ARKEMA offers his customers a one-stop solution. Indeed, both materials can be advantageously combined and processed together through sheet and blow molding co-extrusion. While OREVAC® 18728 confers internal packaging cohesion by developing an effective adhesion against PA and EVOH, EV3251FT imparts effective gas barrier properties thanks to its low ethylene content within its composition (32%).

As OREVAC® 18728 is PP homo-polymer based, it is suitable for retort and sterilization processes.
Nowadays, food safety is a major concern for consumers. Indeed, packaging has to protect packed food against both external chemical and mechanical aggressions but packaging has also to be inert with regard to the packed food. That’s why ARKEMA has developed a phthalate free PP tie layer by selecting the right components of its composition.
