Technipol® is a range of biodegradable co-polyesters. Some grades are even available partially or fully biobased.
All Technipol® Bio grades are compliant with food contact regulations as Reg. (EU) n. 10/2011 and following updates and FDA Section 21 CFR 175.300 and 175.105.
Technipol® Bio 707 is a biodegradable thermoplastic adhesive based on sebacic acid and 1,4 butanediol.
It has low melting point (Tm = 64° C) and it is used in various industrial fields as footwear industry for toe-puff and counters production in powder form (100 - 300 µm), textile industry for bonding substrates that are sensitive to the exposure to medium-high temperatures in powder form (100 - 300 µm) and as a component used in compounding of biodegradable/compostable engineering plastics for injection molding or extrusion.
Technipol® Bio 1160 is a PBAT, an aromatic aliphatic co-polyester characterized by medium crystallinity and a low melting point (Tm = 115° C). Due to its formulation, it can be used in biodegradable and compostable compounds. Due to its viscosity it is not suitable for blown film processes. Furthermore, it exhibits a good compatibility with other biodegradable polymers such as polylactic acid and starch. It is used as carrier for masterbatches both in granules as in powder form (200 - 400 µm) for the production of biodegradable masterbatches. It is also usable in injection molding.
Technipol® Bio 1120 is an aliphatic co-polyester based on succinic acid and 1,4 butanediol. It is characterized by a low melting point (Tm = 113° C). Due to its formulation, it can be used in biodegradable and compostable compounds. Furthermore, it exhibits a good compatibility with other biodegradable polymers such as polylactic acid and starch. It is used as carrier for masterbatches both in granules as in powder form (200 – 400 µm) for the production of biodegradable masterbatches. It is also usable injection molding.
